    Banco Santander Central Hisp.

    Banco Santander Central Hispano is a financial corporation that started out as Banco Santander then founded in 1857. The merger of Banco Santander as well as Banco Central Hispano in 1999 resulted in the Banco Santander Central Hispano or BSCH.     While in May of 2007, Banco Santander along with the Royal Bank of Scotland and Fortis, made an offer for ABN AMRO which they eventually acquired. When ABN AMRO was acquired Banco Santander, its subsidiaries Banco Real in Brazil as well as Branco Antonveneta in Italy were also acquired by Banco Santander. There were more acquisitions and the latest activity of Banco Santander was the takeover of the Alliance & Leicester bank in the United Kingdom.
